“The times, they are a changin”

Or so goes the lyrics by Bob Dylan, 2020 was a hell of a year for change.  Now more than anytime the workplace dynamic has changed and not necessarily for the worse.  In the last year most of us have gone from office based to home working, from face to face meetings to Zoom or Teams chat (with the backgrounds on!). Who would have thought in 2019 we would go from a handshake to an elbow bump to say hello or from a hug to a socially distanced wave?

So what happened…

Our Permanent and Temporary workers have had to embrace the influx of technology and increased health and safety. Whether it be for registering online, facetime interviews, PDA’s, Tablets or hand cleaning/ face mask requirements, all to enhance the safety and efficiency of the job.  So have the new routines improved or restrained people from doing their jobs?

And the result is

Without doubt the positives far out way the negatives.  It has shown how companies, staff and suppliers have all come together to ensure the safety of each other and to continue trading. This has helped us to carry on and grow despite the current Pandemic.  Undoubtedly some of these changes will continue long after the pandemic is gone (and some may not facemasks!!). We will also see companies and staff more willing to embracing the latest technologies to improve our working time.

Feedback

We are always eager to hear of any improvements we can incorporate to make the job more efficient and safer– work smarter not harder as they say- so which change worked for you? What other ideas could be included to make the job more stress free? Let us know and together we can make 2021 even more successful!

On A final note we would like to say a big thank you to the NHS, support workers and essential workers for their diligence and hard work during the last year.
