Job Description:
Velocity UK Ltd are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join a growing Manufacturing and Maintenance Team maintaining and building road repair equipment.
Working as a key member of a small team the ideal candidate will have experience working with hand tools and power tools to assemble and install electrical systems and assemblies on plant vehicles.
Essential Skills and Experience
Significant hands-on experience of electrical equipment, assemblies, and machine building.
Ability to carry out Mechanical fitting tasks.
Proficiency in working with hand tools, electrical systems, and power tools
Auto electrical knowledge desirable but not essential.
Ability to fault find and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Basic knowledge of computers, programming and software, a deeper learning will be taught in house.
– Excellent problem-solving skills
A Full UK Driving Licence is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working within a new build and/ or repair and maintenance environment
Proven experience in Electrical Fitting covering maintenance and assembly
Construction of electrical systems and equipment.
Testing, fault-finding and diagnostics of electrical systems
Repairing electrical wiring
Test completed installations for functionality
installing and commissioning of 12V & 24V electrical systems
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams / schematics / Engineering Drawings as you will work unsupervised once you have an understanding of what is required.
You can demonstrate good all-round engineering skills – Key skill areas we look for are working to Safety Procedures, Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Fitting, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Working at Height, Servicing of plant machinery, and Fault Finding.
Hands on manufacturing experience ideally in commercial vehicle bodywork or plant equipment
overhauling and assembling specialist equipment with experience of fault finding and problem-solving Knowledge of how to work through electrical problems
Understanding of quality and continuous improvement
Excellent attention to detail / quality
Good communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
Be able to work individually and within a team to meet project deadlines.
Good planning and organisational skills as well a proactive and consistent.
A willingness to learn with the ability to multi-skill and cross train, not just electrical.
Following clear instructions from team members and senior colleagues
Maintaining a safe working environment at all times
Expected to work outside of skillset.
The company requires all employees to adopt a flexible approach to work and you will be required from time to time to perform other duties. We will ensure that you will be adequately trained to carry out these tasks.

Qualifications
City & Guilds or NVQ technical related to electrics, NVQ, ONC or HNC qualification in Engineering discipline. Apprentice trained desirable.
